After graduating from bible college, can you then be a minister in ANY Protestant religion?

I was talking to this kid who just graduated from a "Wesleyan" (sp?) college with a Divinity degree. He said he hadn't chosen a ministry or parish yet, but was open to apply to any number of places and denominations. This surprised me, since I thought most of the Christian religions outside of the Catholics were pretty intolerant of who would be preaching at them every Sunday and visiting the sick relatives in hospitals.
