Getting My First Credit Card?

so im a 15 year old female & im about to turn 16 actually this month May 14th & i've already applied for a credit card at orchard bank online & they said i will receive a letter in the mail within 14 days all the info i put on there is correct EXCEPT for the year i was born instead of me putting 1995 i put 1993 or 1992 i believe one or they other... SMH the only reason i put a wrong year was because of my mother idk why she would say change the year because they will run it buy your social security number.....Whats the best way to apply for a credit card because i don't trust anything my mom tells me..... Is it better to do it in a bank? '....i hope i didn't mess up my name already & can i get in trouble for that
